Bend
& Central Oregon Community Links
Over
the last ten years, Bend has grown large enough
to provide the amenities of a small city lifestyle,
but still possesses the friendliness of small town
living. Abundant outdoor recreation is available,
and Bend offers a large choice of entertainment
in the form of restaurants, boutiques, art galleries,
movie theaters, shopping, and several annual events
such as the Bend Summer Festival, the Cascade Festival
of Music and the Pole Pedal Paddle Race.
The
Tower Theater in downtown Bend has recently
undergone a complete $3 million dollar renovation
into a performing arts center. There is also a brand
new Public Library. The restoration and development
of the Old Mill District on the banks of the river
is booming - providing a new area of retail, hotel
and residential, with an events center, cinema complex
and we're told... a new skating rink.
